AQA GCSE Combined Science: Trilogy (8464) Course Overview
This course provides a comprehensive foundation in the three core sciences, designed to prepare students for the AQA GCSE Combined Science: Trilogy examinations. The content is structured to cover all the essential topics in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Course Structure and Assessment
The curriculum is divided into the three scientific disciplines, which are assessed at the end of the course through six separate written papers—two for each subject. Each paper is 1 hour and 15 minutes long.
- Biology:
Paper 1: Covers Cell Biology, Organisation, Infection and Response, and Bioenergetics.
Paper 2: Covers Homeostasis and Response, Inheritance, Variation and Evolution, and Ecology.
- Chemistry:
Paper 1: Covers Atomic Structure, Bonding, Quantitative Chemistry, Chemical Changes, and Energy Changes.
Paper 2: Covers The Rate and Extent of Chemical Change, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Analysis, Chemistry of the Atmosphere, and Using Resources.
- Physics:
Paper 1: Covers Energy, Electricity, the Particle Model of Matter, and Atomic Structure.
Paper 2: Covers Forces, Waves, and Magnetism and Electromagnetism.
